How much FAAB to bid on a waiver pickup

Bid on a free agent in proportion to what he adds to your team: the points he scores over the starter he would replace, this week or for the rest of the season. A player who will not start for you is worth very little to you, however good his week was. Dibz ranks pickups that way and suggests a bid as a share of your budget.

This week, or the rest of the season

These are different questions. This week asks whether he beats your weakest starter at his position on Sunday. Rest of season asks what he is worth as an asset. Dibz shows both views.

Who to drop

Every add costs a roster spot. Dibz names the player who would no longer make your best lineup, and if the pickup is the weakest of the lot, it says to keep your roster as it is.

Roles before points

A jump in snaps or targets often shows up before the points do. Dibz flags players whose role is growing so you can bid before everyone else notices.

Questions

What percentage of FAAB should I bid?

It depends on what the player adds to your lineup. Dibz suggests a share of your budget for each pickup from the points he adds over replacement.

Should I bid on players at positions my league does not start?

No. Dibz leaves out positions your lineup does not use, such as kickers in a league without a kicker slot.
